MiPower is a leading independent company specialising in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) electricity generation and installation.

Founded in Shropshire, West Midlands, MiPower's business has spread through Herefordshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire and now operates on a national scale.

We work with private homeowners, commercial premises, community organisations and public bodies in order to design and implement bespoke solutions to meet specific needs in each of these sectors.

The company employs fully trained professionals to survey, design and install the best quality Solar PV (photovoltaic) products from major manufacturers such as Sanyo, Sharp, Schüco and REC, all of which include a 25 year performance warranty.

MiPower has accumulated a wealth of knowledge within the renewable energies and particularly the Photovoltaic industry, and Franchisees can expect to receive full training to benefit from MiPower's market experience.

Our Products

The Energy Act 2008 guarantees support for home energy systems with feed in tariff income, which is tax-free and index-linked for 25 years.

The introduction of Feed-in-Tariffs in April 2010 Photovoltaic Cell (PV Cell) installation gives the homeowner:

• Free electricity from their solar panels, leading to lower fuel bills. 
• Income for every kWp of electricity generated from their solar panels. 
• Further income for every kWp of electricity returned to the National Grid.

How do we support you?

As a UK-wide franchise operating under the MiPower brand, it is crucial that we grow and maintain our reputation and build an excellent national organisation that supports successful and profitable franchisees. You are guaranteed our continued support, because the success of our franchisees is critical to ours.

As part of the franchise material you will have access to MiPower systems of operations, documentation and sales material.

A comprehensive training and continued support package will ensure that you enjoy the highest possible profitability in your new business.

Initial training

This training will include guidance on the market and the administration systems as well as a technical understanding of the PV products. You will also have the opportunity to meet the MiPower team and view some of our installations.

The MiPower training programme is designed to provide Franchisees with extensive knowledge of the business and the confidence to allow you to begin successfully trading under the MiPower name right from the start.

Ongoing training

Once you have had the initial training and your MiPower franchise is up and running, our support does not end there.

Ongoing guidance, including refresher training, will be available to you ensure you stay up-to-date with the latest product developments and make the most of your MiPower resources.

MiPower also has comprehensive telephone and e-mail support to cover the full range of MiPower activity, from administration to installations, to help and guide you whilst you are establishing your franchise.

The MiPower franchise allows you total flexibility to work for yourself from home and be your own boss, while also being a key member of a growing national organisation.

Exclusive franchise areas are based on geographic County or Unitary Council boundaries.

The MiPower franchise package includes:

• A 5 year term of agreement with an option to renew thereafter 

• The right to assign/sell on a Franchise. We will permit an onward sale subject to our terms & conditions 

• MCS Certification. An essential service for every solar microgeneration installation. A Certified MiPower electrician will undertake this service on behalf of franchisees. 

• Fee paid to MiPower per installation. The fee will be fixed to the output size of each installation. 

• MiFix Bracketry. MiFix, a MiPower subsidiary will provide all bracketry to enable safe and secure fixing of panels. 

• Solar Panels. MiPower solar panels are all supplied to Franchisees by MiPower to ensure high quality of the brand. 

• Maintenance Agreements. The franchisee may sell an annual maintenance agreement after year 1 with all income accruing to the Franchisee. 

• Initial and ongoing training. Inclusive of the franchise price will be full training for up to 4 member of the franchisees team. 

• Trading under the MiPower brand. The franchisee will be permitted to use under licence the MiPower name under the Franchise agreement. 
• An exclusive business territory. Precise boundaries are defined within the individual agreements. 
• Permanent ongoing head office support. A dedicated technical and administrative is available by phone and email to assist on a daily basis. 
• Electronic copies of all letters, documents and templates. All templates are included to enable a franchisee to operate effectively and quickly in a clear and customer friendly format everyone can understand. These will include MiPower logos etc. 
• Business profile & contact page on the MiPower website. Links and franchisee details will be included on the MiPower website. 

Franchise Earning Potential

Your fully supported business operating in the increasingly important UK renewable market and within a generous business territory provides you with all the opportunity you need to make an excellent return on your investment.

Almost all domestic installations can be completed in a single day once the scaffolding has been erected.

Once you are up and running, there is a significant earning potential. Your success will be directly driven by how many Solar panel sales you complete.

MiPower has learnt that as your reputation spreads throughout your territory the recommendation generated from satisfied customers creates its own momentum amongst families, their friends and business associates.

MiPower, originally based in Shropshire, is a testament to the potential success of the businesses in other regions.

MiPower franchise fees start at £15,000 (plus VAT). These include everything that you will require to begin trading in your exclusive territory as described in this prospectus.

All that is required is working capital and an operating address.

Franchisee earnings are based on a fixed fee per output Wp of panels installed. This way you know precisely your expected return. MiPower experience has allowed us to make an accurate analysis of such costs.

A typical installation of 2.5 Wp output will yield a net profit in the region of £2,000. This may be increased if the franchisee undertakes part of the installation such as the electrical or carpentry work but the MiPower fee remains the same.

There are no limits to the amount of installations that may be undertaken or the franchisee’s earning potential.

An initial deposit of £3,000 (plus VAT) will be required upon successful application in order to cover costs of training and reserve the defined territory in which you are interested.

This amount will then be deducted from the final fee to be paid upon successful completion of the training period.
